-From Pastor Search Committee – “Wednesdays with Walter,” a Bible study in Genesis with implications for First Baptist Bristol continues on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. If you can’t make it to supper at 5, come on at 6, pick up a dinner, and eat while you learn. Enthusiasm is growing every week. Be a part of it!


-Special event in November - Adults of all ages are invited. If you do not have a Sunday School class or do not regularly attend Sunday School, this may be the class for you. How does the Bible relate to current events? "Current Events Sunday School Class" will be led by Tom Parker and will meet in the chapel. On November 5, come for family breakfast at 9, stay for the class at 9:45.  November 19, come for light breakfast before class at 9:45.


-Cap the Gap Works with Sullivan County Department of Children’s Services to seek the help of local sponsors and volunteers to fill the Christmas wish list of every foster child. The deadline for choosing a child is November, 1 and we will receive the wish lists by Nov. 10. -Fall Youth RetreatDecember 1-3 in Pigeon Forge, TN. The cost is $80 and includes lodging, transportation, and most of the meals for the weekend. We also suggest each youth bring money for two fast-food meals and $30 for recreational activities. We will depart Friday, December 1, at 4:30 p.m. and return on Sunday afternoon. To register, contact the church office or visit for a registration form.  Registration deadline is November 12. A $20 deposit is also needed, with the full amount due before departure.


-The Worship Team is organizing an Advent Devotional guide or the upcoming Advent season. We are asking for volunteers to take one day during the advent season and write a short devotional with a closing prayer for that day. Over the next several weeks we will be asking members to participate in this meaningful addition to the advent season. The Advent devotionals are due by Friday, November 3. -Operation Christmas Child: This year we are doing things a little differently. We will not be filling boxes but instead we will be sending money in an envelope to Samaritan’s Purse to be used to help with rebuilding lives in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. Members were mailed a letter and envelopes earmarked for Samaritan’s Purse. We will be collecting these donations thru Sunday, October 29.


-Our annual Fall Festival will be held on Sunday, October 29 from 3-5 p.m. at Steele Creek Park, Shelter G. This year we will be having a Chili Cook Off at our Fall Festival. There is a signup sheet in the church office for those who wish to participate. We are also doing a cake walk and will need cake donations. Come and enjoy fun, games, food, and fellowship.
